The Tupilak Jacket has its roots in the savage conditions of Scottish Winter, a simple and exceptionally protective design that’s become a benchmark for those climbing hard ice and mixed routes in the worst weather. Just as relevant on big faces all over the world, these attributes have seen the Tupilak used everywhere from cutting edge Himalayan first ascents to Alaskan test pieces and Alpine classics. At just 500g in a size large even the most weight obsessive of our climbing team often prefer it over the very lightest shells for the extra reassurance and durability it provides when committed on remote peaks.
GORE-TEX Pro is combined with 80 denier face fabric throughout the jacket. This gives the abrasion resistance needed for mixed climbing and the flexibility and comfort for hard moves and multi-day routes.
Our tailored Alpine fit gives complete freedom of movement without excess fabric but it’s perhaps our Super Alpine Hood which has made the Tupilak the only choice for so many climbers and Alpinists. Larger than the Mountain HC Hood found on jackets like our Lhotse or Makalu it provides exceptional protection and visibility when worn over a helmet. The seamless face panel is cut to shield you from freezing winds and spin drift whilst remaining comfortable and unrestrictive.
Two large chest pockets sit above a harness to give easy access to the essentials and crucially the cuffs will over a glove to seal out snow and rain when required.
